December Youth Group Meeting

The Trinity Lutheran Youth Group met on Wednesday, December 16th after mid-week school.
Members participated in an ice breaker game titled "Holiday Phrase from A-Z" where they had to come up with a holiday phrase or item that started with each letter of the alphabet.  Guest, Alex Hughes, finished the list first and Katy Pitts finished second.  They received large chocolate candy canes as prizes.

Youth Leader, Kim Pitts, read a devotional about how sometimes we get caught up in the commercial aspect of Christmas and we need to remember that it is a celebration of the birth of Christ.  Christ is the reason for the season!  CHRISTmas!!

Members decided that they would like to hold their next youth group meeting on Wednesday, January 13th after mid-week school.  They are supposed to brain storm ideas for a community service or church service project.  Also, they are supposed to think of ideas for a fun day activity.

Youth Leader, Kim Pitts, read one more devotional about the value of things in small packages and handed out a prayer rock to all the members.

Shayla Johnson led the group in the Lord's Prayer to conclude the meeting.  As soon as the meeting ended, members raced to the gift table to grab a gift bag for their gift bag exchange.
Everyone busy trying to find holiday phrases or items, from A-Z!!
Guest Alex Hughes won, Katy Pitts was second, playing the Holiday A-Z game.

Gift bag exchange.

The Junior High Youth Group held their first meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, immediately following mid-week school.  Fifteen members from the 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes were present.   Members filled out contact information pages and discussed items related to meeting times, dates, activities they would like to do, etc.

As a closing activity, they played a "getting to know you" activity by removing one shoe and throwing it in a pile.  They had to select a different shoe than their own.  Then, they had to introduce their "shoe" partner and tell the group one thing that their partner has a fear of. (keeping with a Halloween theme).  After the activity, they chose to close with the Lord's Prayer.

Check back soon for time and date of our next meeting.
